This meditation for self-care is designed to get your own care at the top of the priority list again. Self-care is not about mentally checking out, it is about being the best friend to yourself you can imagine. This helps to break old habits of sacrificing yourself for everyone and everything else and guides you through embedding self-care as a daily habit.

More on this: This guided meditation for self-care starts by encouraging a ritual. Habit is triggered by many factors including our environment and key objects so get a special blanket, meditation cushion, create a space that is just for you and give yourself this time.

We go through some body relaxation then breath focus, activating the parasympathetic (relaxation) nervous system to get out of an anxious state and into calm (we find the calm button!), then visualize a future of self-care and walk through a typical day with self-care as a priority.

I also guide you through what may be blocking you from taking care of yourself, and we explore how self-care is also linked to boundaries, self-esteem and self-respect. Lastly, we explore what the story or episode was that has led to you coming last in your own life and then further embed the image of a future with self-care as part of everyday life.
