Yule is an ancient witchy time of year, ๐ ๐ฆ ๐ ๐ฏ๏ธ The children get overexcited and slightly scared of meeting Old Man Winter (or Father Christmas as he is currently known) and we all indulge in a little too much mistletoe and wine as they say. The winter solstice is a beautiful sabbat, celebrated throughout the world since we began to look to the sun and you can feel this ancient energy as we lead up to this darkest of nights.
I like to gather the greenery around me, and I must tell you that Holly is amazing this year, loaded with berries and looking so beautiful in the hedgerows. Folklore says that lots of berries means that we are in for a hard winter, but for now, it is wonderful to welcome the darkness with candles and fire. ๐ ๐ฆ ๐ ๐ฏ๏ธ
